SMCS Reunion

My good friend Emily is back from Japan for a short 1 week break. So the old girls decided to get-together for dinner yesterday at Yan Yan Restaurant, Old Klang Road.

More than 2 decades of friendship. We should really do this more often.

Chocolate Almond Rocher

I’m very fortunate being surrounded by many of good friends who showered me with good food, mainly home made (with love) food last year.

So in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2013, I’ve baked these for them… (you know who you are…) 😊😊😊 If they fail to reach you, it’s not because I have left you out. It simply means they were gone before I could distribute them. Ha ha.. Sorry ya.. I promise I will make more. 😂

My camera does not do justice to these yummies. It was delish. They taste heavenly. Thanks to the recipe source from Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia through Wendy’s blog. Lil B helped himself scoop after scoop while I was busy transferring the crispies to the cups (1inch). Now you know why I said they weren’t enough. lol.

Make: 60 (somehow I topped 80 using the same recipe). I cut the sugar content to 70g.

8th Wedding Anniversary

9th January 2013 marked our 8th wedding anniversary. This year also marks 21 years hubs and I have known each other. Gosh, speaking of time flies.

Eversince Ryan started school, my daily day to day task includes coaching him on his homework. His school is known to be the academic no nonsense school so like it or no, we have to adjust to this new routine of ours.

Ryan was scheduled to have his first spelling test the next day so I had to run through the list with him for the final time before I could leave the house.

At about 6pm, I finally managed to ‘escape’ (Darren threw a big fuss knowing I’m going out without him). Hubs and I met at The Gardens and we had Japanese. Nothing really special just some couple time without the kids around.

After dinner, we had our favorite Moo Cow for dessert. 3rd in the span of 8 days.

I always have mine original flavour with digestive biscuits. Hubs like it with oatmeal/choc chip. Ryan’s favorite is always strawberry toppings while Darren, mmm he’s pretty indecisive. Sometimes he’ll pick oreo crumbs, at times choc chips but he’s also fine with digestive biscuit. Very fickle minded boy. 😂

Down memory lane..

Lil B @ 2 years 5 years

Loida is currently on 2 weeks holiday break (15th – 30th July 2012). As such I’ve been spending a lot more time with the kids.

This morning I took out one of the old photo albums to occupy lil B with it. It was so funny. Lil B flipped through a few pages before he asked.. ‘Mommy, is this your friend?‘ I took a glance and saw this…

Muahahahaaaa … So ‘someone’ aged look ‘different’ now so much so his son couldn’t recognize him?

Noticed we looked kinda distant in picture? I guess partly because we were in a distant relationship for 3 years before we were ‘reunited’ after I went there. Gosh, how the relationship survived those 3 years? Ha ha..

The picture was taken back in Oct ’97, barely a month after we arrived at Birmingham, UK where I spent the next 3 years in this second largest city for my undergrad years. Hubs by then was reading his Masters at Oxford, 1.5 hours (train) from where I was. After spending 3 years in the country, he was like our white cane showing me and my flat mates around. How time flies.

Mommy’s Birthday.

On the 30th March…

I celebrated my 3xth birthday. It’s a scary number to even think of but since there aren’t anything I could do to change the fact, I might as well embrace it with open heart. Ha ha..

As usual, I woke up early that day to prep Ryan for school. After he left for school (YehYeh sends him to school everyday. Yes I know how fortunate I am), I was hoping to catch a cat nap but lil B was already awake by then. So there dashed my hope.

After picking Ryan up from school, I met up with other mommies from Ryan’s school for lunch. We had our lunch at … (reminds me I have to go find out the name of the restaurant. lol). Anyways, food was delish. I’m definitely going back for more.

In evening, I met hubby down town. We had planned to eat at Shooks plus I need to replenish my skincare from Sephora so naturally Starhill was an obvious choice.

After much thoughts i changed my mind about Shooks because I was still very full from my lunch. Unfortunately (for hubs), eventhough in the end we didn’t eat at Shooks, that didn’t save him from burning a hole in his pocket after he surprised me the green light to buy my dream bag as birthday present. Yoohooooooo

After our shopping, we proceeded to Santouka at Toyko Street for some ramen. The food was so so yet I couldn’t stop beaming from ear to ear peeping at the paper bag shoved under our table. He he..

By the time we reached home, the kids were already asleep. So we had a simple cake cutting session the next day with the them instead.

My newfound love… Idylle Speedy 30 with strap. Finally you are in mama’s arms. Yay!

I’m one happy wife, one who is easily pleased. I’m glad hubby is always generous on me. Thank you my love. ❤❤❤
