Lil B’s 10 and 11 month update

Lil B’s stats

Height: 74cm; Weight: 10.8kg; HC: 48cm

I brought lil B for his 3rd dose Pneumococcal on the xxxxx. Eversince his last visit to the paed in November, he has developed a fear of seeing the doctor. The moment we stepped foot into the doctor’s clinice, he began fussing and the loud wailing starts when the doctor’s stethoscope touches his body. I guess the last visit to the paed back in November (due to suspected Herpangina, infected by kor kor) is still vividly fresh in his memory.

Lil B started taking his first step a few days past his 11 month. Both Ryan and him started taking their first steps about the same time. However, Ryan managed to walk independentally a week or so later whereas lil B still prefer to cling on to us or the play yard for support. Other than that, he could stand alone unsupported pretty well.

Lil B has a pair of very strong hands. The other day, he was clinging on the door handle at our living, refusing to let go at all cost. I released my support to allow him a free hand to support himself. I was all ready for a fall but surpringly this little fella could held on to his weight (mind you, close to 11kg) for quite a long time. Hahaha.. surely a pair of gymnast’s hand there.

He could wave bye bye and play hi five.

Lil B has grown a lot over the last two months. He’s more vocal. When he sees us with food, he will say ‘mum mum’. When he wants your attention, he will stare at you and scream ‘Aaahhhh’.

Loves to play peek a boo. Infact he likes to get involved in any games. He’s such a cheeky baby.

In terms of food intake nothing much changes. He’s still the adventurous baby eversince he started solid. He usually takes his cereal with fruit / rusks, oats, in the morning. In the evening, that’s when he takes his porridge. He loves soup by the extreme. something which he gets to drink everyday without miss. When he turn his head away during feeds, we will normally say ‘soup soup’ and he’ll willingly open his mouth. The trick worked miraculously for a few times. After awhile this little smartie gets the hang of it. When he sees there was no soup in his spoon, he would quickly looked away, avoiding feed.

Sleeping schedule

Finally, finally I’m getting my life back. No more haywire sleeping patterns. His schedule seem to have adjusted eversince we’re back from our Port Dickson trip. During the trip, we literally starved him from his naps and that very night we stayed at Avillion, this boy zonked out at 9pm until the next morning, 8am. He woke up around midnite for his feed but that’s about it. *clap clap*.

A short getaway

Ryan @ 4 years 8 months 3 weeks 3 days
Lil B @ 11 months 2 weeks 4 days

After the kids’ bout of illness in the month of November, we decided to go for a short getaway to rechage ourselves away from all the negative energy. I was contemplating between Avillion or The Legend Water chalets. After reading the online reviews, I opted forAvillion. I called them up for a reservation but was told all rooms were full and they only have 5th Dec available to accommodate us (family of 4, Yeh Yeh and my helper).

5th December (Sunday)

We departed from home around 12 noon. The journey to Port Dickson took us a little more than an hour. It was an uneventful journey. When we got there, we saw a huge crowd in front of the reception. They do not have a separate check out counters therefor everybody checking in and checking out swarmed the reception area. It was quite chaotic.

We decided to walk around the property rather than wasting time in Qs. We checked out the Pet Farm, went to the Kids Playground and finally settled ourselves in the Kids Club while waiting for the crowd to disperse at the reception area.

Around 1.15pm, I went to check on the crowd. It was more manageable by then. I quickly get all our check in procedures completed but before I knew it, there was already a beeline quieing behind me. I guess if you wish to skip the crowd, it’s probably best to check in late, maybe 2pm or 3pm.

YehYeh and Hubby shared a room while the kids and I together with my helper occupied the adjoining Garden chalet.

On the way to PD, my little b is evidently excited

Ryan was bugging us to check out the beach so there we were at the beach under the glaring sun @ 5pm… I definitely need more jars of anti pigmentation cream!

Ryan seen here trying to calm his lil bro for a picture. Lil b was clearly being unhappy being confined by the brother.

Adios 2010, Hello 2011

Ryan @ 4 years 8 months 2 weeks 2 days

Lil B @ 11 months 1 week 3 days

As usual, procrastination hit me and I failed to write a post before the year 2010 ended. Well, I guess I’ll just make up with a first post on this 1.1.11 day.

We did not do anything special last night. Precious years I remember we would make a toast but somehow we had forgotten about that and two of us occupied ourselves in front of the TV until we heard the fireworks when the clock striked 12am. Hubby wished me Happy New Year. Argghh.. how unromantic but then again, having everyone safe and sound at home happens to be the greatest warmth of all.

Our neighbour lighted the fireworks, luckily not for long this time. Frankly, I am not a big fan of fireworks. I find them disturbing, too much of a noise pollution. I got extremely agigated when the noise woke the kids (active toddler and crying baby) up and I have to spend another hour or so pacifying them back to bed. Goodness, last night was bearable. Now I’m anticipating the much unbearable Chinese New Year fireworks which involves literally ALL my neighbours. Huh.. just when I thought fireworks are banned since dongkey years ago.

This morning, R&D work up at 8am. We decided to go for Dim Sum at Lai Po Heen. Miss their durian pancakes. Yumss…

We reached Lai Poh Heen at 11.30am. Surpringly no crowd. Yay! We ordered the regulars and Ryan, being the usual pickey eater just ate their Century Egg Porridge (minus the century eggs). The other lil fella was more adventurous. He was screaming for us to let him try the adult food. So there goes.. lil b had his first bite of Egg Tart and Char Siew Pow (he actually tried Char Siew Pow back in Oct when we were at Ah Yat Restaurant, Genting).

I’m now craving for a cup of Starbucks Choc Chips and Aunty Anne’s Pretzel. Hubs said he will drive out to get for me but as I am typing now, he is still in dreamland with lil B. When am I gonna get my Starbucksssss and pretzel??

Happy New Year 2011.
