Sibling Fight

Ryan @ 5 years 6 months 3 weeks 2 days
Lil B @ 1 year 9 months 2 weeks 3 days

Lil B is one feisty baby. It’s not the first time the two brothers fight. The fights are usually related to snatching toys from one another. Despite being really upset, Ryan has always been very forgiving. More often than not, he will give in to the little brother eventually. Ryan simply dotes on his brother.

This evening, lil B strikes again.

After homework, Ryan was lying on the bed playing iPad. Despite having 3 iPads in the house, the little fella insist on the one Ryan was holding. I scolded him and left it as it is. Lil one was teary eyed.

Suddenly, BANG! I heard a loud thud. The next thing I saw, Ryan was wailing. Lil B stood at the corner freeze and looking stunt. The little fella actually threw a HotWheel car at Ryan and hit his forehead.

I was boiling mad. I reprimanded lil B again for his actions. At this point, I have two crying babies. Both want my attention, both need my tender loving care.

Luckily Ryan wasn’t badly hurt. After awhile, both boys calmed down and moved on.

Part 2

After dinner, I showered the two boys. I was preparing their PJs when Ryan complained of Didi scratching him. Not suspecting anything, I brushed his pleas away. Shortly later, I saw Ryan rolling on the floor crying again. This time he was really angry, he kicked Darren back (thank goodness it wasn’t hard). Again, I have two crying babies in the room. Faint!

Poor kor kor. His ‘injuries’ looks bad considering they came from a 1.5 year old toddler. Definitely Terrible 2 in the making.

Later I told Ryan I will send Lil B to a naughty school. The latter will only be back during the weekends. Ryan was visibly worried upon hearing that. Despite being still mad at his little brother, he begged not to send his Didi. He allowed me to send Didi to a naughty corner instead.

Ryan’s maiden bump

@ 4 years 6 months 2 weeks

It was about 10am when I received a call from Ryan’s class teacher, Debbie. To receive a call from his teacher during school hours when Ryan was in school is heart cruching. The moment I picked up the phone, she asked ‘Is it convenient to talk?’. I quickly said yes and blurted my next question to find out if Ryan was sick. Teacher calmly said no.. he’s not sick. OK, I feel more relaxed.

I must say his teacher is a wonderful teacher. She’s never panicked in any situation, she’s never lose her patient in any of the students under her care, she’s always calm and well mannered in front of everyone. Well, at least in front of me. From my conversation with her all along, she potray herself as a loving, responsible and always positive teacher. I guess all these has to do with the Sokka Gakkai teaching.

Anyway… back to her call.

She broke the news Ryan had fallen while ‘playing’ with two other kids (B and KJ). They were playing (which I later found out from Ryan’s side story, they were actually holding hands walking towards the library) and out of blue KJ had accidentally shoved both B and Ryan to the floor. While B only had a small scratch on his knees, my poor Ryan had ended with a big bump on the forehead. Teacher Debbie assured me things are under control and she called because she wanted to pre empt us of the incident. (She actually called all three mothers). I asked if Ryan did cry to which she replied yes but it was only for a short while. To lighten the mood, she said Ryan even asked her repeatedly why she kept applying medicine as Ryan claimed he is no longer in pain.  Teacher praised Ryan for his braveness, for being strong and tough when face with such incident. My heart sank when I heard that. I was puzzled. My feelings were mixed. I wanted to go and bring him home but Debbie told me Ryan had insisted to stay in school.

When I reached the school to pick Ryan at 12noon, my heart sank to my stomach when I saw his bump. It was bad, so bad. He must be in real pain. But my tough cookie was all smiles and proudly announced to me ‘Mommy, I fell and I didn’t cry’. For a moment, I thought I was choking trying to keep myself from tearing, the little moment I said to myself, aahh… my little ‘siu yeh zhai’ has grown up. *smile*

Ouch! Ouch!

Home Sweet Home Again~~~

@ 15 months 3 weeks 1 day

We were in Singapore again over the weekend to finalise the lease agreement. Finally we got the keys to our unit and what initially appear a distant away now seems to be more real. I’m pretty excited and looking forward to the new change. I am really not sure if I can cope with all the changes but thankfully I have Ryan to keep me positive and motivated. It’s all for my baby.

The mover is coming over this Saturday to pack our stuff. We’re expected to be in Singapore on the 20th August and will stay in the service apartment until our house is fully cleaned and organised.

Fascinated by the aeroplane while in the boarding hall

Ryan fell off the bed on the night before we left for Singapore (3 Aug). Speaking of how much I hate my bed frame design..arrghhh!! it’s evident! Poor baby…

A short clip of how Ryan occupied himself in the hotel room…Mid way, he even let out a cheeky grin. :D Here goes my ‘Mighty Baby in Action’.

Happy & Sad Moment

@ 11 months 4 weeks 1 day

In two days’ time Ryan will turn one. No more a baby, but a toddler soon. The countdown is finally rolling and we have decided to celebrate the occassion at my mom’s place today. I ordered a cake from Mama Min of Ryan’s fav characters (Baby Bright 2) plus his fav basket ball. Was really looking forward to receive it this morning. Unfortunately as you can see from the pic, the cake was a little dented and the figurine in the middle looked as if he has got splashes of water on him (heehee.. actually quite funny).. . Why? Why the dent? Well, apparently the cake had a little accident while on its way to my house this morning. That’s why lor. Poor cake. Really appreciate Min’s effort in trying to fix the cake. :P

Poor black baby. Splashed with water all over face and body. :P

The basketball is actually a candle.. so cute!!

Ryan’s birthday pressie

This is what happened when we pretend to snatch it away

Ryan’s cousins (three musketeers from left: Aisyah, Atiqah & Sean) who kept Ryan entertained during the party.. Pretty obvious two of them are siblings heh..the identical smile :P

I love this pic.. Happily smiling there while watching himself on the video taken during his party earlier

OK… here comes the sad sad part. Ryan as usual was walking all around the room. In like nanoseconds when neither hubs nor my eyes were on him, he slipped and fell. Actually not exactly Ryan slipped rather the playpen cos the wheels were not braked. Ryan cried a bit and was easily soothed shortly after Daddy brought him for a walk around the house. However, when they came back to room, my heart almost stopped beating when I saw blood oozing from Ryan’s right eye. I quickly cleaned him up and saw a scratch on exactly the corner of his eye but his inner eye looks okay to me. The scratch (a small cut) was not serious so I suspect it could be the tears that exaggerated the seriousness of it. But that doesnt stopped me from worrying…. I hope his eye is really okay and not merely my pandai pandai assumption. We’re scheduled to bring Ryan for MMR jab tomorrow so will get paed to check. Arrgghh.. I need assurance from paed.

An awful mark as a result of the fall near Ryan’s right eye

2 Sick Cats

@ 10 month 2 weeks 4 days

AAh.. ‘D’ week has arrived. As per our plan, MIL will take the morning shift and I’ll take over the afternoon. ‘Ho sui mm sui’ (bad luck) I caught the flu bug as well. So, I was literally fi-li-feh-leh (sneezing) making wantons all day. Ryan on the other hand was still having a mild runny nose and he will squeak each time I wipe away the disgusting mucous with the baby wipes. Poor baby.

I reached home around 1pm. Found a bruise on Ryan’s cheek. MIL said Ryan slipped and fell on the bed panel. Arrgghh… stupid bed panel again. If only I can get rid of it. Luckily it wasn’t serious.

Ryan played with Linda briefly while I had my express lunch. Fed Ryan some medication and after a short play time, he napped at 2.30pm. I was quite exhausted and I too crashed without a blink. We only woke up at 5.30pm (a record 3 hours nap). Phew…

Ryan missed his evening nap and went to bed at 10pm. He woke up briefly a few times at night but managed to go back to sleep after some assurance pats.

Generally I had a good bonding time with Ryan. Though I was pretty unwell but when I see Ryan smiling happily and crawled to me when I reached home yesterday, it was all worth it. (yes! yes! Ryan crawled to mummy).

I look forward to another day of SAHM.. Wish me luck.
