We’re in Singapore

Bidding farewells, yes it sucks!!!! My heart has never felt so heavy.

** Farewells with friends and colleagues – managable
** Farewells with relatives – heart a bit ‘mm shue fok’ yet still managable
** Farewells with nanny – started to feel the pinch. I knew it was going to be difficult but I made a point I have to go pick up Ryan that day so I could thank nanny personally. I don’t know about Ryan but I for sure, was very sad (very very infact)… When I started to load Ryan’s stuff into my car, I think nanny felt it too as I think I could see tears in nanny’s eyes. Arrggh.. don’t I hate goodbyes.
** Farewells with families – ‘Wahlau’ (SG slang already)… extremely difficult and sad. The biggest challenge was to control myself from getting emotional and to stop my tears from flowing down my cheek. Paiseh ma.. It was supposed to be a happy occassion but those who know me will know I am a very ‘ngan chien’ mommy who will even cry at animated cartoons (eg Hunchback of the Notre Dame, Beauty and The Beast alike). So did I cry? Heehee… *secret*

@ 6am; the day we left for Singapore.. all geared for the journey

Teary Farewell

Anyways, here we are in Singapore after 4 hours drive. Linda came along with us as we felt we needed her to help out with the cleaning up of the place. She will bw our ezrea pair of hands until my inlaws’s visit end of Aug.

Today is our 2nd day in SG. My friend MSN-ed me ‘hey, so are you getting used to being a tai-tai’ yet? Arrgghh.. if a tai-tai’s daily schedule is as hectic as mine, I think no one on earth wants to become one. It was tiring…. VERY.

Day1: After the long hours’ drive, we drove straight to the furniture mall @ The Plaza, since we could only checked in to the service apt after 2pm. We spent 4 hours there shopping for settees, dining table, TV consoles etc!!! Even after 4 hours we did not get all the furnitures we need but Ryan was very tired by then and I am no better so I demanded home. I know hubs is not happy as he really wanted to get all the furniture shopping done at one go. There goes, some tongue lashing between hubs and wife. Arrghhh!!! Did we end up home or continue to shop? We went home.

@ the service apartment (Cairnhill Tower)

Day2: Mover delivered our ‘goods’. 4 of them came this time and stayed for 3 hours to unpack all the packages. Again by the time they are all done, I am all tired eventhough I didn’t do anything besides taking care of Ryan while hubs and Linda manages the whole supervision and cleaning. Am I old or what? By 1pm I asked hubs to send Ryan and myself back to the service apt so Ryan (and mommy) could nap. Linda insisted to stay so she could clean and tidy up the place. She’s indeed a great help. When we got back to our unit 3 hours later, the place was 80% cleaned and tidied. Phew~~ We did more shopping at night – this time electrical goods and yes!! I also got my new phone and a SG number lor. Now I feel ‘local’. Others like StarHub packages, Broadband, house phone all signed up as well. That’s how efficient my hubs can be.

By the time we got gome it was almost 9.30pm. Ryan had a quick shower and was in bed by 10pm after a short skype session with YehYeh & MaMa. He didn’t manage to stay up for a session with nanny. Imagine how tired he was.
