Lil B @ 3 years 11 months
I sent lil B to school on his third day. Since parents are still allowed in, I hung around in the school a bit. Lil B is getting more and more comfortable in school. I stayed outside the classroom most of the time and he seemes alright with that. I couldn’t be more pleased.
On the fourth day, the school hours will end at nornal time which is 12noon instead of 10.30am like the first 3 days. As usual, I sent lil B in. When I was walking in, we bumped into his school teacher who volunteered to bring him. I hesitated a bit. So I asked lil B if it’s ok he follow the teacher. To my surprise, he answered Yes! With a heavy heart, I handed his hand to teacher. At the back of my mind, I was thinking if I constant prep talk at home really works. He’s so independent! Apart from Day 2 whereby he looked a bit teary because I was outside the classroom, he handled school really well.
Being the helicopter mom, I couldn’t let go. I tried to peep but his classroom is in a blind spot from where I stood. Luckily I saw Elaine and Shu Hui. They had graciously helped me take these valuable pic of lilB in the classroom.
Hurray! He was crying! With a heavy (still) heart, I left the school and went breakfast with my two buddies.
After school that day, we had this conversation in the car.
M: Darren, how was school today?
M: Did you cry?
M: Any of your friends cried?
LB: Yes, a few of my friends cried. The boys cried. Why they cried? I never? I’m good?
M: Of course (gave him a thumbs up)
So there goes his first day, welk 4th day of school but first day without mommy. I’m so proud of this little cheeky boy. He really exceeds my expectation.
More actions in school taken first few days in school.
