A Happy Day~~

@ 16 months 1 week 2 days

It’s been our 6th day in Singapore. I don’t know whether it’s just me or what but I actually lost track of what date today is. It never (at least very rarely) occurred to me when I was still in the workforce but this morning I woke up and start to wonder hey, today what date ar? What day ar? Sei lor.. 6th day only the sign of ‘wong min por’ is revealing~~~ Help!

OK OK.. I need a calendar. *grin*

I met one of my best buddies from KL for dimsum @ Paragon. She’s in town for an event her company is hosting. Such a wonderful feeling to be able to catch up with someone from ‘home’.

Iryne, ‘Wong Min Por’ mommy and Ryan (wearing the shirt from her)

If you noticed my hair is actually in a mess. What happened was I went for a rebonding just days before I left for SG. My hair had been straight all the while but me ‘san hun’ (out of the blue) wanted them even straighter thus the decision to go for it. But… in the end, instead of having smooth silky straight hair, I came back with damage not just in my pocket but my hair too. Arrgghh!! So dry and damaged now. Anyone know any good salon in Singapore?? Help me please… I don’t want to have Bad Hair Day EVERYDAY. :(

I must say I have not been entirely pleasant since our arrival into the lion city on Monday. I’ve been grumbling and making foul faces all day (siow mommy). The most trivial thing will upset me the whole day. It doesn’t helped when I found out my mom slipped and fell the other night while on her way to switch off the aircon middle of the night. I was really upset and worried sick that day. Thank goodness the x-ray came out fine. Just some medication to heal the swelling will do her good.

And.. my poor hubs always ‘kena’ from me though he himself has been under the weather last few days, yet had to study for a test. Thinking back.. I’m such evil. I bet his pressure is way above mine; new environment, new job etc. Yet he did the most wonderful thing for his moody wife today. We walked into this shop after dimsum as hubs needed to get a pair of new shoes. After browsing around, we saw the bag that I have been eyeing for since early of the month when I landed my pair of panda eyes on it at the airport. And yes… he bought me the bag. Really really made my day. See, until I missed my nap. Blehh…

Thank you B. I promised I will be good and no more unneccessary ‘fatt thee than’ ya. :P (Gifts can really bribe me.. Kekekeke)

My new bag~ Yoohoo~~

It’s not easy to get Ryan to wear anything on his head. Below a pic of Ryan with a cap on. One of those very rare occassion~~. Love the pic! Love my baby even more!

Bidding farewells, yes it sucks!!!! My heart has never felt so heavy.

** Farewells with friends and colleagues – managable
** Farewells with relatives – heart a bit ‘mm shue fok’ yet still managable
** Farewells with nanny – started to feel the pinch. I knew it was going to be difficult but I made a point I have to go pick up Ryan that day so I could thank nanny personally. I don’t know about Ryan but I for sure, was very sad (very very infact)… When I started to load Ryan’s stuff into my car, I think nanny felt it too as I think I could see tears in nanny’s eyes. Arrggh.. don’t I hate goodbyes.
** Farewells with families – ‘Wahlau’ (SG slang already)… extremely difficult and sad. The biggest challenge was to control myself from getting emotional and to stop my tears from flowing down my cheek. Paiseh ma.. It was supposed to be a happy occassion but those who know me will know I am a very ‘ngan chien’ mommy who will even cry at animated cartoons (eg Hunchback of the Notre Dame, Beauty and The Beast alike). So did I cry? Heehee… *secret*

@ 6am; the day we left for Singapore.. all geared for the journey

Teary Farewell

Anyways, here we are in Singapore after 4 hours drive. Linda came along with us as we felt we needed her to help out with the cleaning up of the place. She will bw our ezrea pair of hands until my inlaws’s visit end of Aug.

Today is our 2nd day in SG. My friend MSN-ed me ‘hey, so are you getting used to being a tai-tai’ yet? Arrgghh.. if a tai-tai’s daily schedule is as hectic as mine, I think no one on earth wants to become one. It was tiring…. VERY.

Day1: After the long hours’ drive, we drove straight to the furniture mall @ The Plaza, since we could only checked in to the service apt after 2pm. We spent 4 hours there shopping for settees, dining table, TV consoles etc!!! Even after 4 hours we did not get all the furnitures we need but Ryan was very tired by then and I am no better so I demanded home. I know hubs is not happy as he really wanted to get all the furniture shopping done at one go. There goes, some tongue lashing between hubs and wife. Arrghhh!!! Did we end up home or continue to shop? We went home.

@ the service apartment (Cairnhill Tower)

Day2: Mover delivered our ‘goods’. 4 of them came this time and stayed for 3 hours to unpack all the packages. Again by the time they are all done, I am all tired eventhough I didn’t do anything besides taking care of Ryan while hubs and Linda manages the whole supervision and cleaning. Am I old or what? By 1pm I asked hubs to send Ryan and myself back to the service apt so Ryan (and mommy) could nap. Linda insisted to stay so she could clean and tidy up the place. She’s indeed a great help. When we got back to our unit 3 hours later, the place was 80% cleaned and tidied. Phew~~ We did more shopping at night – this time electrical goods and yes!! I also got my new phone and a SG number lor. Now I feel ‘local’. Others like StarHub packages, Broadband, house phone all signed up as well. That’s how efficient my hubs can be.

By the time we got gome it was almost 9.30pm. Ryan had a quick shower and was in bed by 10pm after a short skype session with YehYeh & MaMa. He didn’t manage to stay up for a session with nanny. Imagine how tired he was.

You Turned 16 Months Today

@ 16 months

I have been on blog hiatus for the longest period since I started blogging. Excuse is I’ve been caught up with work and also the whole relocation prep. But today it is special indeed as today Ryan turned 16 months. So, I really want to blog something.

A recap what happened over the last one week plus:

1) Attended the mega blogger meet at Marmalade last Saturday. I was caught up with the mover in the morning and reached there almost an hour late. So sorry. Barbara (she did a super fantastic job as organiser.. next time we know who to nominate when it comes to gathering heh) initiated the gathering in conjunction with Julian’s visit to KL and also my farewell. I’m really sorry about my late arrival. Really really paiseh and thousand apologies.

I didn’t manage to take many pics as my cam was drying on batt. If any of you have pic of my little monster, please send to me can?

Ryan and cutie Jayden

All worn out after the gathering

Lovely gifts from Oscar Mummy, LaundryAmah and Shannon. Thanks gals!

After a good charge from his power nap. Pic taken at a restaurant in Selayang that serves ‘excellent’ prawn. Ryan was seen here imitating the expression we showed him..

2) The mover company sent 5 staff over to pack and upload our stuff to the lorry. A total of 33 boxes and that will cost hub’s future employer a sum of USDxxxx. Blehh…

Look at the mess in our room itself (there were more mess outside the room)

3) Brought Ryan for a haircut on Tuesday night. Unlike the last time, this time round he was not so cooperative. He refused the protector coat and was fussing to remove it each time we put it on. In the end, I had no choice but to allow the hairdresser to trim Ryan’s hair without the protector coat and inevitably his hair were all over his clothes (and mine too!).

4) When we got home from the salon, Ryan was quickly whisked for shower. I did not use the tub as it was intended to be a quickie. He had so much fun enjoying his new found toy (the shower spray) that he refused to come out when we were all done. As it was getting late (with mummy all tired) I scooped him up after wrapping him with towel. The next 10 mins was a ghastly experience. Ryan was so out of control and inconsolable. He was holding on tight to the shower door refusing to let go (he must have got super power strength at that time), wailing and screaming his lungs out. He doesn’t want his yogurt, he refused his apple. He wanted nothing but shower shower. I have not seen Ryan so upset before. Poor baby. In the end, after much pacifying, it was ‘Baby Bright’ that came to rescue. Phew…

Poor baby. Eating his apple while watching Baby Bright here.

5) Ryan vomited once this morning and his body is a little warm today (37.3C) I hope he will be well and will not fall sick. If he does, I will have Daddy to blame and I will be very very very unhappy. Daddy is down with sore throat again (yes AGAIN) and despite my numerous reminders, he kept kissing his beloved son. Arrgghh…

6) Oh.. today Daddy sold off his first wife (Ms Alfa). Kekekeke.. so today I naik pangkat to become his one and only wife. Heehee…

7) Ryan is 16 months today. I don’t think I can do a complete milestone this time. It is getting more and more difficult….. Anyways, at the back of my mind these are some notable development:

- Ryan calls us B. (I think he picked that up from the parents. Blehhh)
- Lately he likes to stick his tongue out
- Called ‘mommy’ (only once… sigh.. ) Other times either Mi or B.
- He will pat-pat his chest when he’s scared (example, when he sees the lizard, he’ll pat- pat his chest)
- Ryan is now able to digest and comprehend the language we speak around the house. He is also able to understand simple bed time stories. Example: Must admit, mommy’s bed time stories mostly comprise of all no head no tail story line (the lights were off and there’s no book to refer ma so mommy would have to make up all the characters and story line all at same time). The stories were all half past six but good enough to cheer my little kulingchingkwai up. Usually I’ll ask “Ryan, do you want to listen to stories?” Ryan [nod, nod, nod]. As I narrate the story, Ryan would giggle and giggle.. and would easily fall asleep after I sing him a few lullabies (part of the story) :P I like the feeling that my stories are appreciated la..
- Likes to kick the blanket away at night

- Ryan would do the ‘Shhh’ sign when he doesn’t want you to speak about the things he has done.

‘SShhh… please don’t tell Daddy’

I asked nanny to help take some pictures of Ryan during the day.. here goes. The pics were not clear but the fun he had was evident…
