Ryan’s First Passport Picture

@ 1 year 2 months 1 week 3 days

We brought Ryan to KLCC last Sat to have his passport pic taken. Check out the serious look on the usual little cheeky boy of mine. Daddy was carrying him while mummy became the clown behind the camera man trying to get the little one to stay focussed. Very obvious from the pic, Ryan did not find the mummy funny at all. :P

Ryan behaved really well throughout the process. Somehow we tend to worry too much that he will be cranky, will not cooperate, will not do this, will not do that.. but he always surprises us with just the total opposite. It’s exactly what happened when we brought him for his haircut last time. So cooperative, so behaved. Well done baby.

Ryan’s Tender Loving Side

@ 1 year 2 months 1 week 1 day

Being the only toddler at home, it’s hard for me to gauge how well Ryan behaves when another little one is around. So, the only source of info as such would be from nanny who also baby sits her niece who is 6 months old. Last week nanny shared with me Ryan’s tender loving side stories. According to nanny, she never taught Ryan these but somehow Ryan knew what to do at times as such. He must had picked it up unconsciously from nanny. What happened was last week, nanny spotted Ryan shoving the pacifier into the baby’s mouth whenever she cries. If the crying does not stop, Ryan would then pat pat the baby girl’s chest softly, and then knock his head towards the girl’s. Well, in case you’re wondering why knocking the head, head2head knocking is actually Ryan’s way of showing his love since young. Whenever we say the word sayang example, ‘sayang’ mummy, ‘sayang’ daddy, Ryan would knock his head towards ours. Nanny said she spotted Ryan doing that on several occassions so it’s not a fluke shot afterall. When I learnt that, I feel so proud of my little baby. So sweet; not quite the little monster at all……….. Maybe he’s really for a little DiDi/MeiMei? Blehhh….

Misbehaved Kiddo

@ 1 year 2 months 2 days

I tried not to split hair when Ryan throws a tantrum. Afterall, he’s still a baby and discipline is still new a new word in his dictionary but I really could not contain my frustration when he showed his antics at the restaurants two nights in a row. Arrgghh… how to not get more white hair over such meltdown???

Saturday
Went to Mdm Kwan, MV for dinner.
**He rejected the high chair – Fine
**He was busy vocalling EH, EH, EH, Mm, Mm, Mm loudly in the restaurant – Fine
**He kept saying mum-mum, mum-mum – Fine
**Took a few spoons and rejected the remaining cereals I prepared – Fine
**Kept insisting he wants my nasi lemak – Fine
**Fed him nasi lemak, spat everything out and whined – Fine
**Screamed, threw a tantrum, arching his back, wriggled left right, insisting to come down and wander around – NOT FINE!!!!. How to let him go alone. Arrghhh…

It doesn’t helped when the rest of the restaurant patrons were exchanging gestures on the misbehaved toddler on mine. So so so…. embarassing. Sob..

Sunday
Went for Father’s Day Celebration at Pik Wah Restaurant

**Wanted to play with chopsticks – Fine
**Almost poked mummy with chopsticks – Fine
**Played drum with chopsticks – Boiling mad but still FINE
**Insisted the balloon (yeah.. many decorated balloons hanging on the side panel) – Fine. Got one from the captain (white color)
**Rejected the food I prepared again – Fine
**Refused to be carried by Linda and kept pointing at mummy – Pitiful so still fine
**Insisted he wants a pink balloon and not the white one – NOT FINE…too demanding liow!!! Last straw and really tested my patience.

When we got home I was still frustrated. So I pinned the little fella down on bed. He was wriggling badly for freedom of course but I remained firm and tried to reason with him of what he did at the restaurant earlier. I am not sure if he understands what the mummy was babbling but he stared straight into my eyes during the whole episode and actually laid still throughout the few mins. I hope he gets my message loud and clear this time. After I released him, I prop him up, asked him to open up his hand and gave him three slaps on his palm (not painful la.. ) and told him this time mummy punished him lightly for first time offender (blekkk) but next time if it happens again, mummy will piak piak. He ran away……………. *slap head*

What Happens After The Party

@ 1 year 1 month 5 days
19 May, Saturday
We went to The Curve after the party. Ryan’s patience finally wore thin and he was evidently restless on his stroller. So we had our dinner at speed and rushes home. As expected our poor boy fell asleep on the way home. We got home around 7.30pm; all three of us just fell flat and crashed on bed. By the time we woke up, it was 10pm. Sei for lor… 10pm!!!! Ryan would typically stay up for 5-6 hours in the evening before he calls it a day. Time time really jialat. So dah dah dah.. we watched TV together-gether, played with him, ate snacks dah dah dah again and at 1.00am, finally the little fella showed signs of sleepiness and subsequently fell asleep while having his milk. What a loooooong night. Tired lor!!!!

20 May, Sunday
Ryan usually wakes up at 8am, but on this day he woke up at 10am. All three of us woke up at 10am. Just tooooo tired. Really getting old. Well, the consequences of that on Ryan was another odd hour’s nap at 1pm and 7pm subsequently during our way back from MV for dinner. My hands felt so heavy when I have to wake Ryan up at 7.30pm knowing he must be super tired but we do not wish another late night and certainly cannot afford to wake up at 10am the next morning. Well thank gawd we woke up the lil fella cos even that he actually only fell sleepy at 12midnight!!! His energy level definitely way surpassed his mom and dad’s. Gosh!!!

*** I’ve always wanted to prepare mac-cheese for Ryan so today I decided I want to get myself busy la with the food experiment using the recipe that this hot mama shared with me. Dee-dee-daa-daa a good 30 mins in the kitchen until the whole house was filled with the smell of cheese (kekeke.. MIL has a phobia of cheese so imagine when she came home and smell of it. Sorry ya…). So here goes, first spoon to Ryan.. he munched munched then OEK!!. Okay, nevermind, try again. He gave a hesitant look but opened his mouth anyway. Then OEK OEK!! This time jialat. Oek until the whole clothes was stained with cheese and macaronis. Hmm… I think he doesn’t like the cheese (I actually gave him half a slice, maybe too much for his first try). Sigh.. okay la.. The End of my food experiement. Went back to kitchen and prepared good old cereal. (Frankly I tried the mac-cheese myself, I also feel like OEK — jus too cheesy I think for such small portion) **slap head**
The look of it also mummy wanna ‘Oek-Oek’. Heehee..

21 May, Monday
This morning, literally dragged the little fella out of bed. He just can’t open his eyes. Check out the picss…(Pray pray, his body clock will go back to normal today)

Post Birthday Bash Update

@ 1 year 1 month 5 days

Ryan attended the mega birthday party bash of 4 lovely toddlers (Kylie, Ashley, Fearles and Cruz). We got there about 15 mins late but fuiyohhhh.. the crowd was already overwhelming. I looked around and I thought I saw Amah first but not sure if she was Amah cos never met before ma.. then I saw Annie, phew.. familiar face. But since I have not met any of them except her but she wasn’t there yet, so I can’t confirm lor knowing how blur I can be at times. (Some of you may know the blunder I made this morning; the consequences of a blurry Monday and mistaken identity *slap head*). Then then I saw her, she said Hi from afar. Wah, instantly I felt at home.. Heehee….. yeah me very reserved and shy… need people to initiate conversation first wan… :D

Those who attended the party you would see my little boy was evidently quiet, cranky and clingy throughout the party. The reason is the poor boy only took a 10 mins nap in the car and I know he was extremely sleepy. But after a while I think he warmed up la.. cos from what I gathered he was able to point and walk around hunting for his balloons, balloonsssss… (he just love balloonsss so much)

I would like to thank the lovely hosts (Amah, Barbara, Annie) for the invitation and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Good to finally meet most of you in person….

Sorry.. I realised my cam were filled with mainly pics of my lil monster
