Ryan Had His First Power Outage Experience

@ 9 months 3 weeks

Last night we had the first power outage since Ryan’s arrival. Actually I cannot remember the last time we experienced one.. must be sooooo once upon a time until the we didn’t even know the back-up light in our room is spoilt (erm.. loss for words.. what is it call?? The lights that will come on when there is a power failure. Emergency lights??).

It happened around 11pm when I was about to put Ryan to bed. My eyes almost popped out when I saw the blackout. Not because I was worry about being in the dark, hot etc etc.. I was more worried about Ryan. Sei for lor.. knowing Ryan.. he sure make a big fuss being in such hot warm room.

I frantically looked around for this … THIS that I don’t recall where it is, where I put. Searched searched searched.. phew.. finally found.

Kekeke.. yeah.. ‘this’ refers to the clip on portable fan. It does help to keep us cool but the colorful LED lights (middle) were super distrating and Ryan was super entertained by it until he refused to sleep. Of course leh.. new toy for him. So, no short cut. I folded a few pieces of paper, used one hand to fan Ryan, the other to pat pat his butt. Ryan did not fussed too much, throughout his waking time, he went “Ma Ma , Ma Ma…” Hahaha.. I wish to assume he was looking for his mummy; probably able to sense something was amiss in view of the total darkness in our room.

Anyways, thank thank goodness, he fell asleep shortly. I continue to use the fan for the next 4 hours (changed the batts once). Air-con is back at 3.30am. **Wipe cold sweats off head**

A Night at Genting

@ 9 months 2 weeks 5 days

We spent the weekend at Genting Highlands. It was Ryan’s first out of KL-Sel trip so the feeling was a mixture of excited and worry. Excited for obvious reasons, worry because not knowing if Ryan would make a big fuss having to travel so far (not that far la… but far for Ryan’s standard lor)

Checked in to Genting Resort Hotel around 1pm. Somehow the condition of the room was much higher than our expectation. Thanks to a friend of mine who had stayed there before and pre-empted me to get the renovated rooms (16th floor and above).

Overall Ryan was very well behaved throughout the 2D 1 N stay with only some fussing up and downhill, maybe due to the winding road.

Ryan likes to be in the cold so the trip was pretty ideal for Ryan being the typical winter baby he is. At night if the air-con is not cold enough for him, he’ll be twisting and tossing on bed non stop until I lower the temperature. The flip side to this is Daddy (who can’t stand the cold) will have to cover himself with comforter lor for his son’s sake.

Ryan biting his lips, getting really impatient (I think). Heehee…

Ryan’s new found toy in the room; THE PHONE. Check out how he stood unsupported.. Ryan also attempted a few wobbly steps (3 steps). Geng!!!

Daddy and Ryan during din-din

Luckily we brought along a toy to entertain Ryan

Outside temperature was about 12C. Probably the reason for Ryan’s moody face

Oops.. caught in the act..Ryan likes to tear up all the books, magazines he could grab hold off. But that night he reserved this particular piece. Ryan showing us his favourite pin up gal. LOL

Potato Porridge

@ 9 months 2 weeks 2 days

Ryan’s body is still a bit heng-heng-tei (warm).. hehee.. yeah yeah, no fever but warmer than his usual lor. So, I decided to make him something different today – potato porridge.

I must say I am a hopeless housewife, mummy. I actually sms-ed MalaikaMummy asked her what type of potato I should buy to make potato porridge. I actually got confused between those sweet potato and those normal potato. So stupid right but no joke.. I am that blur when it comes to this. Arrghh.. since she replied late I bought both. That was last night.

After all the hoo-hoo-haa-haa (I added both to the porridge) I was all ready to feed and Ryan was all ready to eat. First feed.. Ryan showed funny face. Thinking the porridge could be too dry, I added some water. Second feed, Ryan “Oek” (puke sound). Patted him and gave him some plain water (as usual he only managed a few sips of it). Third feed “Oek” again. Fourth “Oek” again again.. Okay la, put aside. I don’t have my camera handy to take a shot of Ryan. He showed such a pitiful face as if this mummy just fed him poison. Adoi~~~

Poor baby. Either it’s the funny taste, too dry, no appetite, erm wrong potato etc etc reasonings, excuses went thru my mind.

In the end, fed Ryan rice cereal mixed pureed apple. I seriously need more cooking lessons!!! “Kow Meng Ar” (Help me)….
